Privacy Policy of the WHIZZ TANZANIA LIMITED Web and Mobile Application
Effective Date: 8th April 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how WHIZZ TANZANIA LIMITED (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the “Application”).
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Information You Provide Directly:
- Registration and Account Information: If you choose to register and log in to post your car or property listings, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- WhatsApp number
- Contact number
Listing Information: Information provided when creating car or property listings, including item details, images, and contact details you choose to display (which may include your name and contact number).
Communications: If you contact us via email (admin@whizztanzania.com) to delete your account or for any other request, we will retain a record of that communication.
Information Collected Automatically:
- Push Notification Tokens: When you install the Application, we may collect a device token to enable push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These notifications may include updates, alerts, and promotional content related to the Application.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous information about your use of the Application, such as features viewed, session duration, and other statistical data. This data is generally aggregated and does not directly identify you.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
- Providing and Maintaining the Application: Ensuring the proper functionality of the Application and its features.
- Account Management: Managing your user account, including registration, login, and deletion requests.
- Listing Services: Allowing you to create, manage, and display your car and property listings in the Application.
- Verification: Verifying the authenticity of listings through our validation team.
- Push Notifications: Sending relevant notifications (updates, alerts, offers). You can generally manage your preferences in your device settings.
- Customer Support: Responding to your inquiries and providing support.
- Application Improvement: Analysing usage to improve performance and user experience.
- Security: Protecting the integrity of the Application and user data.
3. Sharing Your Information
Your information may be shared in the following cases:
- Public Listings: Information in your listings (including your name and number if displayed) will be publicly visible to other users of the Application.
- Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties who assist us in operating the Application (e.g., Firebase for push notifications). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a legal or government request.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred to the acquiring company. You will be informed by email and/or through a message in the Application.
4. Data Security
WHIZZ TANZANIA LIMITED implements reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Your passwords are encrypted in our database. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information if your account is active or as needed to provide our services, unless a longer retention period is required by law. If you request deletion by emailing admin@whizztanzania.com, we will take steps to delete your data from our active systems, though a copy may remain in backups for a reasonable period.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights:
- Access: Request access to your personal information.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing admin@whizztanzania.com
- Objection: Object to the processing of your data in certain cases.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw your consent if processing is based on it.
7. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verified parental consent. If you believe we have collected information about a child without such consent, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be notified through the Application, and the effective date will be updated. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
